Die bairische Wikipedia hat erst einmal nichts mit dem Freistaat Bayern zu tun, da nur ein Teil der ?Bayern“ bairisch spricht. Schlie?lich geh?ren zum Freistaat Bayern unter anderem auch Franken und Schwaben. Die bairische Wikipedia folgt der wissenschaftlichen Definition der bairischen Sprache. In diesem Sinne spricht auch ein Gro?teil der ?sterreicher, die Südtiroler und die Bewohner Samnauns in der Schweiz Bairisch. Entsprechend der wissenschaftlich verwendeten Abkürzung ?bar“ für bairisch ist die bairische Wikipedia unter bar.wikipedia.org zu finden. Dieses Projekt versucht unter anderem, m?glichst viel Wissen über die bairischen Sprachen und über die Gegenden, in der diese gesprochen werden, zu sammeln. Genauso sind hier aber auch ausdrücklich alle anderen Themen erwünscht, solange die Artikel in einer bairischen Sprache verfasst werden.

This part of Wikipedia is written in various dialects of Bairisch, or "Bavarian." The Bavarian Wikipedia has nothing to do with the Free State of Bavaria, a state of Germany. Only a part of “Bavarians” speak Bavarian. Parts of Bavaria are inhabited by Franconians or Swabians, to name just a few of the speakers of other dialects common in Bavaria proper. The Bavarian Wikipedia follows the scientific definition of the Bavarian language. In that sense, a large part of Austrians, South Tyrolians, and the people of Samnaun, a municipality in the district of Inn in the Swiss canton of Graubünden speak Bavarian. Even people in parts of the Americas do (approximately 34,000 people in the US states of Washington, Montana, North and South Dakota, and Minnesota; and in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba speak Hutterisch, also a Bavarian dialect.) Following the scientific abbreviation “bar” for Bavarian, the Bavarian Wikipedia can be found at bar.wikipedia.org . The main intent of the Bavarian project is to gather as much knowledge as possible of the Bavarian language and of the areas in which the language is spoken. Other topics are explicitly welcome, as long as the articles are kept in the Bavarian language.
